Coming
from the beautiful foothills of North Carolina, JB has had music running
through his veins since before he can remember. The traditional music flowed down the streams and rivers
from the mountains of East Tennessee where his musical heritage is steeped in rich
music. Music that has been played
for the queen of England, and is preserved in the Smithsonian…
For
more than 25 years JB has toured throughout the southeast with this band. There
were smaller tours that took the band to New York, Dallas, and Chicago, but the
biggest fan base has developed in the southeast.
“We
were on the road all the time.
There was one tour that we did that was all on islands. Two weeks in Key West, 2 weeks in Captiva
Island, Fl, 2 weeks in Hilton Head, SC, and we went back to Key West for another 2
weeks. Then we finished it off
with a weekend at the Sand Dollar on Folly Beach, SC. It was great! We were
young and could go all night and get up do it again night after night. I think
we played over 250 days that year”.
A
sound that is fueled with the funky sounds of Little Feat, the driving country
of Zac Brown, and John Hiatt, the
harmonies of CS&N, Eagles and Jackson Browne, rounded out with JBs
originals that have been compared to Lyle Lovett, and Chris Isaak. JB and his
band have such a wide variety of music and styles that every ear will be
entertained.
“Back in the day when we first started playing at Margaritaville in Key West, Buffett wanted us to be the 'Shrimpers'. You know wear the slickers, boots and everything. But I think the idea came from too much Tequila and Coronas. We still laugh about the idea to this day. We’ve shared the stage on more than one occasion. Jimmy has been a great friend to me. Though we’re not the Reefers, Jimmy knows if he wants to come up and jam at Margaritaville, or play a show like the Friday afternoon Street Fest he has no worries that we’ll have a large time and play some great music.”
Throughout
the years, Jonathan has either supported or shared the stage with such greats as
Jimmy Buffett, Edwin McCain, Mac McAnally, Robert Earle Keen, Allison Krauss,
Guy Clark, and Dale Watson. Just
to name a few....
JB's
music will let you have the time of your life, and move you to tears of long
lost loves and places deep in your heart.
